01 What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They let a site remember things about your visit — for example, that you are signed in, that you have already dismissed a notice, or that you prefer a particular language. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, pixels, web beacons, and SDKs. For brevity, this policy refers to all of those collectively as "cookies."
02 Categories of cookies we use
We organize cookies into four categories. The names below are illustrative; specific cookie names may change as we update the Service.
Strictly necessary
These cookies are required to operate the Service. Without them, you cannot sign in, submit forms, or interact with the dashboard. Because they are strictly necessary, we do not seek consent to set them; the legal basis is performance of contract or, where applicable, our legitimate interest in operating the Service securely.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
_aqnex_key |
Server-signed session identifier | Session / 30 days if "remember me" |
_csrf_token |
Cross-site request forgery protection | Session |
_aqnex_ratelimit |
Abuse prevention on public endpoints | 1 hour |
_aqnex_geo_lb |
Region affinity for load balancing | 4 hours |
Functional
These cookies remember the choices you make so that the Service behaves the way you expect on your next visit. They are set only when you make the relevant choice. Where consent is required, we obtain it through our cookie banner.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
_aqnex_lang |
Preferred interface language | 1 year |
_aqnex_theme |
Light or dark theme preference | 1 year |
_aqnex_directory_view |
Saved directory filters and view mode | 30 days |
_aqnex_dismissed |
In-product notices you have dismissed | 1 year |
Analytics
We use a privacy-preserving product analytics platform that does not set advertising cookies, does not share data with advertising networks, and does not enable cross-site tracking. Where consent is required for analytics under your local law (for example, the EU ePrivacy Directive as implemented in your member state), we ask for and record consent before any analytics cookie is set.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
_aqnex_anon |
Pseudonymous device identifier for aggregated metrics | 13 months |
_aqnex_session_id |
Session-scoped identifier for funnel analytics | 30 minutes (rolling) |
Advertising
aqnex does not set advertising cookies on its own properties and does not permit third parties to set advertising cookies on aqnex.com or its subdomains. We do not participate in real-time bidding, audience syndication, or cross-site ad tracking on our own domains. Where we run paid campaigns on third-party platforms, those platforms may set their own cookies on their own domains, which are governed by their own policies and are outside the scope of this policy.
03 Third-party cookies
We do not currently allow third parties to drop tracking cookies on our domains. The cookies described above are first-party cookies set by aqnex. A small number of first-party cookies are operated by sub-processors acting under our direction (see the DPA for the current sub-processor list). Where a feature you affirmatively choose to use loads content from a third party (for example, a video from YouTube embedded in a profile, or a map tile from a mapping provider), that third party may set cookies as a result of you loading their content, subject to that provider's own policies.
04 How to manage cookies
You can control cookies in any of the following ways:
- aqnex preferences. From the cookie banner that appears on your first visit, or at any time from Settings → Privacy → Cookie preferences in the dashboard, you can accept or reject the Functional and Analytics categories. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be rejected because the Service does not operate without them.
- Browser controls. Most browsers allow you to view, manage, delete, and block cookies for any site. See the help pages for your browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Brave, or others. You can also use private browsing or "incognito" modes that automatically clear cookies at the end of each session.
- Device controls. On mobile devices, you can usually limit ad tracking from your operating-system privacy settings.
- "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control. aqnex honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" under U.S. state privacy laws. Browser-issued "Do Not Track" signals are not currently a recognized standard, but where you set GPC we treat it as an opt-out.
05 What happens if you reject non-essential cookies
If you reject Functional cookies, your interface preferences (language, theme, saved filters) will not persist between sessions and you may have to re-set them on each visit. If you reject Analytics cookies, we will not be able to measure aggregated product usage from your device, which means we have less signal to improve the features you use. Rejecting these cookies does not affect your ability to use the Service.
06 Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly use cookies to collect information from children under 16. See the Privacy Policy for further detail.
07 Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in applicable law. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we make material changes — for example, adding a new analytics provider — we will re-prompt for consent where required and provide notice through the Service.
